My name is Jim Barkley, and I hope we can meet soon. I look forward to hearing your stories!

But first, a word about me. I am married with two adult children, and my wife is a teacher currently working in teacher development after many years working in elementary classrooms.

We have lived in Central Minnesota for over 25 years, and are firmly rooted here.

I began my career after college in public radio, and enjoyed that experience immensely. I moved on to marketing jobs at several companies, but I always retained my interest and enthusiasm for sound recording, editing and production.

In over 16 years of work, I have completed projects for a growing list of satisfied clients. Many are repeat customers.

For every project, it is an honor for me to hear personal stories and a great satisfaction to provide a completed production that delights a family, business or non-profit organization.

Sōnant History was established to preserve your life stories, or the stories of loved ones in your lives. I invest regularly in the latest professional-grade audio and video recording equipment, computer hardware and editing software.
