The Owner
My name is Jim Barkley, and I hope we can meet soon. I look forward to hearing your stories! But first, a word about me. I am married with two children, and my wife is a teacher at an elementary school. We have lived in Central Minnesota for over 20 years, and are firmly rooted here.
I began my career after college in public radio, and enjoyed that experience immensely. I moved on to marketing jobs at several companies, but I always retained my interest and enthusiasm for sound recording, editing and production.
I've completed successful projects for a growing list of satisfied clients. For every project, it is an honor for me to hear personal stories and a great satisfaction to provide a completed production that delights a family.

Sōnant History was established to preserve your life stories, or the stories of loved ones in your lives. I have invested in professional-grade audio and video recording equipment, computer hardware and editing software.
More importantly, I have created interview techniques and audio / video editing and production processes to create works that you and your family will value for generations to come.
